Born in 1939, Roger Hall is a prolific and successful New Zealand playwright. He has also written scripts for radio and television, as well as some material for children. His comedic plays have toured and been performed locally as well as internationally. His greatest success was with Middle Age Spread (1977), which ran for 18 months in London's West End and won Comedy of the Year in 1979.
