The National Orchestra performed for the first time in the Wellington Town Hall on March 6 1947. Now while its main programmes are in Auckland and Wellington the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is continually on the road. The listed venues are the principal ones but it also performs at schools, marae, hospitals, parks, rest homes and even on railway platforms. For further information and to find out about performances see the website.
