Putaruru Post Office

A 'challenging triangular site' led the government architect to produce this eye-catching circular design with its delicate concrete arched roof shells. (1969).  "Long Live The Modern", p174
When the Post Office closed down, the building was for a period a car show room. Local folk hope that a significant use can be found for a structure which has become emblematic for the small farming, forestry and timber town. Population 3,700.
